In India, if you have a double crown they say the child will be very smart and naughty AKA difficult to manage

I'm the OP of this now two year old thread. All I reported -- all -- was that our geneticist commented that they see a lot of double hair whorls. That is all. Have a nice life.

Another old wives tale from India, for kids born with 2 whorls, is that they will have more than one marriage. My son is born with 2 whorls . He does have severe eczema, but I do too.

That is true for my double whorl kid too.

20:12 here, DS has eczema, unlike anyone else in my or DH's family. Although I'm not that sure of DH's family, but I know no one in my immediate family has eczema.

I have "double crowns" my oldest so does now does my grandson, although his father does not.

When my oldest son was born, the pediatrican commented this "feature" is evidence of extreme intelligence. Complimentary or no, my son was Validictorian of his high school class and now teaches AP US History and AP Civics & Government at the largest school in our home state.

I personally hold a high level IT/BPI position and have 5 - count 'em - FIVE US Patents.

So to all who may say double crowns are a sign of disabilities, etc... I say, I take pleasure in my "abnormality" and I have no reason to believe my offspring would not say the same.

Fwiw I don't see black kids with these whorls. Can't imagine whole groups are immune to these predictions. My mixed kid has one, though I just called it his bald spot. He was born with a full head of hair.

I have Two sons, two different dads. I have a cows lick. My eldest son has a double crown. He is dyspraxic and is left handed. My youngest son has a double crown and is right handed but displays a few OCDs which my eldest son also has? I feel there is some genetic issues at hand here Which I find very interesting regardless of the fact that my boys are amazing.

Yes! And if she's a Greek at Georgetown - run! The double crown means nothing. I was scraping for issues with my hypotonic, late crawler - REALLY late walker and when I took him in for an eval she fixated on it.

She told me she thought he might have CP - when he was 10 months old. It was rough. He's 5 now and he's perfectly fine, a little behind in motor skills but smart as a whip and no other neurological issues.

Can anyone comment on skull shape in utero? Or after birth due to the double crown? Is your lo skull wider in the back?

This is an old thread that got resurrected, but I have to admit that I was intrigued. We used to comment on it, as most years 2-4 of the 6-8 kids in my autism class had double whorls. It made me want to do some studies on it, though I know it's been studied before.
