Government is not performing these services for free. We pay for these services with taxes. Tax money that we've earned by working. And too many people on the left act like we should somehow be apologetic for sacrificing enough to succeed. |

There is a difference between apologies and recognition of the assistance you have received. By your logic, customers spend their money to buy your product, money that they earned by working. You are not producing your product for free. Therefore, customers should not recognize the role you played in producing the product. |
Don't count Mitt as a risk-taker: http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/romneys-risk-free-career-transitions/2012/07/16/gJQAVtJupW_story.html |
You seem to be under this misperception that the conservatives are the business creators, and the liberals are not. In fact, when you look at the wealthiest Americans, they are quite well distributed on the political spectrum. What's more, they are also distributed on the spectrum regarding the fairness of taxation. At your level, which is probably my level - maybe you have created a few companies in your lifetime, there are also a range of liberals and conservatives. And even though we struggled and sacrificed to get our first companies off the ground, we still believe in the importance of supporting our government. You would be surprised to find that up until recently even many die-hard Republicans felt the same way. Would you have suspected that the ardent supporter of health care mandates was Newt Gingrich? Would it not also surprise you that one of the biggest supporters of National Health Insurance was none other than Donald Trump? In summary point is this: you are playing out this false dichotomy that the debate is between you and your kind, the producers, vs. me and my kind, the consumers. This is false and we should move past the notion. |
The problem with this analysis is that it isn't just the people who can take $100 million dollar "risk" that is considered rich in this country yet we through a broad spectrum of incomes under the "rich" label. Sadly, we have become a nation who considers anyone who makes more than we do as "rich" and expect that group to pay more than we do. |

The risks were taken by the workers and the government. The rewards went to Bain. Is that fair? |

Obama has no idea how to create jobs. Romney has no idea how to create jobs. |
Should government be creating jobs? I realize it needs employees to accomplish its tasks, but for the most part, government is supposed to be supporting the economy by creating a healthy, educated workforce that can get to the places of employment and create ways for businesses to deliver their products. The WPA was a sensible approach to a dire situation, but it's not Obama's primary responsibility to create jobs. He's supposed to be leading the county in creating an economy that works for everyone. That's different. |
You have seen the man's tax returns, birth certificate and passport stamps. But, have you seen any other candidates. Have you seen Williard's tax returns, birth certificate, passport stamps, college transcripts. Have you seen any former presidents' birth certificate or college transcripts. The answer is no. Have you asked and has any other person previously asked for the college transcripts of former presidents. The answer is no. What is the common denominator of the past sitting president and the GOP nominee? Is a man of color so repugnant to you, even if he is biologically only 1/2 a person of color, that you can not see beyond your racist lenses? If there was ever a candidate president that you should have sought collete transcripts, it should have been George W. |
