Do you check your bank account balance?

Anonymous
Hmmm....so interesting. I rarely check my account balance, usually whenever I get cash from the ATM. We don't live HTM, so it didn't occur to me. I'm surprised at how many people check daily. I check out our investments more often, especially lately, to see how well I am at stock picking (since they're up!).

This thread has me inclined to check more thoroughly for fraudulent charges though.

We check daily AND we input all of our ins and outs into a separate spreadsheet that we both have access to. It's a royal pain in the butt, but, as we are becoming more and more financially secure with time, it helps us to track our spending and monitor our money management in a way that will benefit us down the road. Especially in regards to knowing how much we truly need, what is actually disposable, and what we can afford to spend/save.

Why don't you use Mint.com or Quicken? It would be a lot easier than imputing everything by hand.
