Don't like South Park either--I find it too juvenile.

I think a lot of his humor is funny, but his antics off-screen (including award shows, lame interviews in character, etc.) turn me off and it's painful to watch. I guess that nut stuff is part of his humor, but I don't care for that part.

Agree that he is an ass off camera--I think pranking unsuspecting folks with physical humor (pouring crap on them? Come on!) is just assaultive and unfunny. He should get back to what he does best: scripting and acting out funny scenes for film and TV. Of course a guy like him probably has such a dark side; I would think he has paralyzing depression. Chappelle too. It takes a very dark mind to even come up with this stuff.

I don't find him very funny, but DH does. I left the room last night when he was doubled-over laughing at him- could't take it anymore!

Not at all.

I'm not a huge fan. Some of it is funny, but much of it seems cruel and unnecessary. And, to be a total stick in the mud, rude and crude. Distasteful.

But apparently, in a DCUM worlds colliding scenario, he or someone high up in his movie studio is realizing that people are growing weary of the schtick. This morning he was interviewed by DCUM favorite Ann Curry on the Today show. He claimed it was only his third interview ever out of character. Then there was some bizarre line about how real people were involved in the earlier movies and he had to preserve character to avoid lawsuits (that made no sense in the quotes).

I actually watched part of the interview, walking into the room after it started, and had no idea who Ann was jabbering at for quite some time. Wonder if this Dictator movie is going to tank, or possibly he's gearing up for more serious actor work?

Did the social commentary/satire part go over your head? I don't watch the show because it's too much, but it does have some redeeming qualities.

Unfortunately, most people don't get that part.

That's pretty good. Really points out some sensitive and sometimes subtle stuff, with good humor too. I miss chappelle. Brilliance can be painful.

It's not that I don't get what they're trying to do (generally). I just don't think they do it well.
