They are usually high in the rankings, however determined.

Again, the fact that FCPS hasn't put out a press release touting the high rankings of so many Fairfax schools ought to tell you that they suspect the ratings will be pulled or revised. It's not a question of bad-mouthing schools that did get higher ratings than expected.

Whether it's Time, Newsweek, US News or the Washington Post, print publications are struggling. The guy who should have eyeballed the numbers more carefully probably got laid off years ago.

These stupid reports remind me of "Playboys Top Party School' list.

My University was never on it....but damn we had a great time!

Wow, I see a lot of people who paid premiums to be in the Madison district are out in full force. Ha!

Face it--the part of the county zoned for Marshall HS is the new best part of Fairfax County. Buy in now while you still can.

WTF? How about trying to curb your enthusiasm or your sarcasm, whichever it is.

FCPS isn't going to come out with a big news story about the high ranking of some of their schools because it highlights how far behind some of the others are. Their ambivelence doesn't necessarily indicate that the data is flawed.

That link specifies that Marshall was named as a "top IB school." Maybe Marshall has actually earned the recognition it is receiving.

^ jealous

Sidwell screams my family is a bunch of transplants, we are trying hard to look rich or exude wealth or importance, and we're not smart enough to navigate the public schools and for our kids to get into a magnet program at a top school like Jefferson (or even a MoCo IB program. . .).

Interesting that the much-maligned Falls Church HS is now rated #22 in the State.

Im keeling over laughing at the pp who is clinging to the false hope that "the numbers werent eyeballed and will be revised". I guess some people are green with envy that the wonderful, diverse Marshall is finally being recognized for the gem that it is. Next in line for a reno too. Ha!

Lots of flawed data reflected in US News rankings. Incorrrect reporting of extent of IB participation at Marshall is one example. Here is another:

It's a good school, but you look silly by calling attention to a flawed rating. Or is that your goal?

you are a sore loser, marshal had not been retracted in the ratings and 99% participate in at least 1 ib , that's how the school is setup. Please Also note that you need to get laid.
