That is no way to go through life. You should get a little french press or stovetop espresso maker. |
| Keurig - just stick it out on the curb already and be done with it. |
| Haven't read the whole thread but has anyone mentioned the new Kuerig? You can adjust the strength- I *think* it's called Vue. |
HA! Funny how freedom means you have to do what I do. LOL. |

Jet Fuel is quite strong as well. It's my Dad's favorite:

+1 on the french press! We must fight for our strong coffee!!!

I really hope that if you are going to bitch about a plastic kcup container that you always bring your own cup to coffee stores, never put any children of yours in disposable diapers, recycle each piece of trash that crosses your path, and that you go out of your way to repurpose and freecycle all of your unwanted items. If you do not do all of the above please 'shut it'. |
| I didn't want one but I got one for a gift. I roast and grind my own gourmet coffee in small batches and the trick is to use the re-usable refillable cup but not the gold mesh one from Kuereg. You need to get the product that uses paper filters $12.99 at brewmasters.com. The next step is to use more coffee to get a stronger cup. This fixes the original problem and the only waste is a small paper filter (no plastic) I use mine to test different variatal beans and the degree of roasting by the cup |
Does he know there are Dunk Kcups? |
| Buy finer ground coffee (espresso) grind. |
This -- this is the only coffee I can stand with a Keurig. The rest taste like gas station coffee to me. They also don't have plastic covering them so they are less wasteful. But I've never seen it at Costco. Which Costco? |
| I like my coffee on the milder side! I have a drawerful of the stronger ones that I will never use (I also hate starbucks). I guess I should be coffee buddies with someone and we can get the variety pack. |
NP here. I buy fair-trade organic coffee from a food coop. It's packaged in paper, which I recycle. I transport it to my home in reusable bags. I grind it myself in a 15 year old grinder and make it in either a 20 year old press pot or a 10 year old drip machine with a reusable filter. I compost the grinds. So, yes, SOME coffee drinkers can sit in judgment, if we wanted to. |
I hope you're also refusing to purchase any items surrounded in layers of plastic and/or bubble wrap and/or syrofoam. Reprehensible when people order from Amazon and other mail order places, buy plastic wrapped items from the drugstore, or buy grocery items in plastic that's not easily recyclable (# 4 and 5). |
| Tully's french roast and italian roast are great for those who prefer a stronger brew. |
