Why do you care? Really

I mean, yes, some of these names (Emma, Emily) are very common but I don't really see how a name can be "overdone"...meat can be overdone, a name? not so much. Not everyone who names a child is trying to pick a unique name...some people just pick names because they like the sound of them. And no, I don't have any of the names above (in fact my name is quite uncommon) and I did not name my child any of these names either so I'm not defending these names in particular...I just don't understand why someone would tell someone else not to name their child something that they consider too common/trendy. Why does it bother you?

I used to babysit a little girl named Emmaline and she was adorable and would always refer to herself in the 3rd person, ie. (regarding food she didn't like) Emmaline no likey.

Me too. But I prefer the other pronunciation. EmmaLINE feels clunky to me.

I was going to site is at the name from Army Wives, too, but honestly can't remember how they pronounced it. I think it was still three syllables? EmmaLYNN.
