You are not a true bagel connoisseur. Einstein's bagels suck. Grocery store bagels only good if they come from one of the above mentioned stores.

Hey, no making fun! I like them.

I truly love Brueggers. Never had better bagels, including in NYC.

I love this list; I'll have to try some new places.

BTW, PP, I like fresh strawberry cream cheese too. Not sure why people get their knickers in a twist over this. To each their own.

Punpernickels on upper NW Connecticut Ave. has good bagels, if you can overlook the filthy conditions of the place.

I can't. I live blocks away, but I drive to Silver Spring for Goldberg's or to Dupont for Bethesda Bagels.

How about The Bagelry in SS?-the servers there are nice now.

Einsteins bagels, if you can even call them that, suck. Georgetown Bagelry on River Road is the best. Brueggers on Wisconsin Ave across from Whole Foods has great bagels too. I agree with the pps, if you can stand the filth and nasty attitude at Pumpernickles, their bagels are pretty good too.

Bruegger's is awesome...and just as an FYI Bruegger's original store is in Troy, NY.

Breugger's bagels are *ok*, but their cream cheese etc not so much.

The Goldberg's in Cabin John is related. The coupons we get (we live right by the Silver Spring one) have the Cabin John one listed right on it...so they have the same owner...

Another vote for Main Street Bagels in Fairfax.

You clearly have no clue about bagels.

Either the Georgetown Bagels on River Road in Bethesda or Bethesda Bagels. We go back and forth about which are better.
