huh? Big law partners don't cap out. they can get distributions in the millions for the senior partners who bring in business and million dollar range for other hard working partners who don't necessarily bring in business |
wow - what agency is paying bonuses like that? i should switch! |
| $98k. P/T (60%) at a non-profit. |
This sounds fantastic for a working mom - what locality? |
| 98K includes bonuses in legal publishing. Work from home most days, incredibly flexible, no billable hours. Wouldn't trade this for all the money in the world. Great work life balance. |
| what is with the constant, constant posts about money, salary, having too little or having quite a bit. is the entire DCUM pop money obsessed? it's really off-putting to click on the off-topic board and see these posts all the time. |
Yes. I am off scale now and up for partner this year. My base is $360K and my bonus last year was $70K. |
Then why read the threads about money? I find the breastfeeding threads tedious so I don't open them. |
| Can those responding to this thread include when graduated law school and/or level? |
| 900k asshole |
| $850k |
| 5th yr associate, small firm, about $200k (including both salary and non-taxable benefits like 401k match). I bill about 1600 hrs/year, and am WAY WAY WAY happier than the 2 yrs i spent in biglaw. |
| I bill maybe 95 hours per month. Work 8:30-4:30 as a trial attorney. Longer hours if I have trial prep/trial. Make $160/ year. Love not having the billable hour pressure or work on weekend pressure. But. Attorneys with my level of experience (18 years) are making way more thn me. |

Most days I really like my job and it is very family friendly. |
