Centipedes are good. They hunt and eat other bugs. They aren’t destructive and avoid humans.

They like moisture, not dirt. Why are you such an douche?

But they are the most hideous, lightning fast, disgusting hairy and awful things ever.

I'd rather cohabitate with a million spiders.

In many cases (not all), having house centipedes indicates you have another insect infestation somewhere...

Anonymous wrote:Ugh, I see one a week. We moved into this house in November and I have no experience with these. We do have a dehumidifier in the basement, but if I forget to empty it, it shuts off.

Is it worthwhile to call an exterminator? I'd rather have a few harmless bugs than a ton of chemicals around.

If its in the basement, try draining it into a sink or sump pump. Mine drains directly into the sump pump and its amazing.

Why did you have to kill that poor thing? Why not just throw it outside?

Sticky traps in the basement. Great for those guys and cave crickets.

Don't want to incite panic, but last week, I ran one over with my desk chair...in an oft-lauded FCPS classroom. It's still there, smooshed under my desk.

Perhaps damning evidence of just how dirty our schools are.
