What gives? Why have some schools already sent and others there hasn't been anything?

Its just the system. It can be very frustrating and annoying because it is a distributed system, with each school sending out on its schedule.

When the CogAT results came a couple weeks ago, some other schools got their results a full week before we got ours (and I am don't think that we were the last to get it).

It would be nice if they could send them all out at the same time. But in the end a few days delay doesn't hurt anyone (just drives them nuts checking the mailbox & backpacks).

Curious if the high scores that were listed did any prep work. I'm just genuinely curious...Not judgmental. Even if these 150-60 kids prepped and raised their scores 15-20 point they were still in the 99 percent to start as I think 99 percent started around 139, at least from what has been reported

Also, did kids get any less than stellar scores? Can't imagine how fcps will deal with the pool next year of this small sampling is indicative of scores across the county.

You mean because everyone who posts scores here is in the 99th percentile?

I don't think that means that everyone getting their scores are all getting the 99th percentile... just the ones who care to share.
Funny how it skews perception.

There is no issue -- they will do what they always do -- set a cutoff which lets ~2000-2500 kids in the automatic pool. Let parents refer if they like. And then evaluate all comers.

My kid (NAI 160, scaled score 731, 47/48) was given one free sample test (from online), 20 questions in 15 min.

My DC (NAI 149, 46/48) was not prepped. I did consider it, but time got away from me and we just never did it.

I think the parents with high scores post them. The parents with very low scores wouldn't post, so it just seems like all the scores are high.

I think these kids should be given at least sample questions. These are 1st grade kids. I don`t think they will know know to follow directions without any prior exposure to these particular kind of questions.

Just got my DS's. 48/48, 160. 99%. 6 years 5 months.

i think they are given a few sample questions at the start of the test. then they are told to complete the rest of the book on their own. at least that's what DC told me.

Keep in mind that this is an anonymous board...some people are posting legitimate scores, some people are exaggerating, and some people are trolls posting completely fictional scores in an attempt to cause an uproar about prepping and speculation about next years pool.
