Do left-handers have worse handwriting?

In many cultures there are superstitions around the left hand. That, and not b/c he would have bad handwriting, is the reason your father was forces to write with is right-hand.

In general, yes. Lefty here. The main thing I think is that the writing letter formation is geared to right-hand, it's the majority so they invented it. Many lefties (me included), can write backwards, and the letter forms are more natural if do that way. Take a right hander, have them write the alpahabet letters formed backwards, and you'll see lousy handwriting. I think alot of it can be overcome with practice, but, I also think writing in general is a right-handed (left brained) thing, so most lefties see it a pointless and don't want to waste time improving it.

I have very nice handwriting, and I am a lefty. I get complemented on it frequently.
