2 years ago we made almost a million. Last year that was cut in half. This year again, cut in half. Same job, just different outcomes with bonuses.

Thankfully we were smart with the money we made 2 years ago so our income, which is now just about $200K doesn't feel so bad, comparably.

$126 K, gov't attorney. I feel that I am paid fairly in that my job is interesting and a lot of people would like to have it. However, I work really really really hard. Long hours, travel, stress. When I think that other gov't attorneys are paid similarly and don't do much, it annoys me. But then I think about how lucky I am that I get to work in a really intersting field of law that is important to our country, and I feel really good about what I make. I think I am paid right and they are overpaid.

You live up to your means, or down to them...whichever way you tend to view it.

Right, you can decide that others are overpaid (not you, of course!) because you know exactly what they do on a daily basis. Seriously, stop judging and trying to talk yourself into liking your job.

I do like my job, and throughout my career, have worked at several other government agencies where I was asked to do a lot less, and everyone else around me did a lot less.

I get paid $70K as an attorney at a nonprofit with 5 years experience. I would like more because it's hard to live on that with a family in the city, but I love what I do and don't think I'd be as happy at a firm.

Another attorney here. Base is $200,000.

For my years of experience, efficiency and quality, no. For the incredible flexibility and low stress, yes.

I thought we were posting individual salaries, not HHI. Or are you a SAHM and posting your DH's income?

Are you ashamed that you SAH? Otherwise, just say $0 because you stay at home or stay out of the discussion.
