Someone rolled their eyes at me today...

Yes, let's all be more passive aggressive, shall we?

Though ITA with your "people in public" mini rant. What say you about those who do deliberately hold others up? I had someone park next to me in an EMPTY parking lot and proceed to take FOREVER (no kids, no bundles, no disablity, no excuses, just an a$$hole) to get in and close their door. I just got on my phone and talked loudly about how rude he was until he decided to shut it. Maybe I was not right to fight fire with fire, but after TWENTY (yup twenty) minutes, he is lucky it did not get ugly. Why be such a hole?

Why not ask him to please close his door? Really???

Or move your car since the parking lot was empty? You really waited 20 minutes to get out, really????

They act like children. Laugh in the rude persons face next time. Just because he's miserable passive aggressive doesn't mean you have to be miserable too. He sounds like my ILs, frankly - NO JOY ALLOWED! I echo PP, life is indeed short.

I have seen all types of rude behavior here that I have never seen while residing in other metropolitan areas. Other people in other areas don't care about what others are doing so much! One of their favorites is "making you wait while pretending they are not". Anyway, ignore and carry on. If they are in your way, sing LOUDER Have fun!

This is complete ignorance. And just for future reference, "the south" doesn't claim the DMV.

I don't get it. How does not wanting to hear some loony sing out loud in public equal being miserable? So you think everyone should find this adorable or they must be bitter? This is crazy.

Amen sister.

OP was singing to her daughter while she was WAITING FOR THE CASHIER TO FINISH. She was not holding up the line and she was actively keeping her kid happy instead of ignoring her to thumb through the latest Celebrity Trash Weekly while her kid screamed. Everyone is focusing on how she probably can't sing and was probably holding up the line and is all around a horrible person because she DARED to sing in public while not being Mariah Carey nor carrying around her own back up band and/or Auto Tune slinging Hot Producer of the Week. If that's not bitter, I don't know what is.

No kidding. Some children are more difficult than others - SURPRISE! Be glad if you do not have one. But giving the stink eye to a fellow mom?!? REALLY?! WTH?!? Over. It.

Close his door? Like he would have without a rage induced spiral? Ya think? He saw me there. Welcome to D.C. Leave any inkiling for being consederate at the door. You new here?

Sorry for his issues, but they have nothing to do with me. Let's keep it that way.

Oops, inkling. Maybe I wanted to kill him? Maybe I should have? LOL.

Spell check helps, I suppose.

You assume she wasn't holding up the line, however, you were not there so you can not say she wasn't holding up the line. On another note though, I would probably want to hear the screaming child than her singing. Just saying...

OP here. Double standard anyone?

You're calling her on her assumption with the assumption that I'm a bad singer.. What a moron! LOL

Anyway, I came and explained several times that I was WAITING for the cashier to finish so I was not holding up anybody.

The day is almost over, DH is putting #1 to sleep and I'm sitting in bed relaxing and waiting for him. I hear him singing to her while I feel #2 moving around inside of me. It was indeed a beautiful day.

I hope your day is better tomorrow.

Does anyone think OP is weird?

OP, I have to call troll. I recognize your writing style. You always have a come-back that seems to completely validate your standpoint. It is so very, should I dare say, Bouquet Bride or FTMFBFN (or whatever it is)? Stop practicing your English here because I can spot you from a mile away.

Honey, if you're living in the northern Virginia/DC area, you're not living around that many southerners. The odds are very great that many of the people you're encountering (rude or otherwise) are from other places!
