It seems there was a big discrepancy in the reading scores of Brent. Why so?
Maury's scores look pretty bad.

The school is similar to Deal in Demographics, and the discrepancy reflects it.

Disadvantaged Brent kids do better than most of the city - economic integration versus concentrations of poverty.

Yep. It's a snapshot of the future of the city as DC's poverty rate continues to fall towards a more manageable level.

Looks like it is par for the course: Watkins has similar differences in those categories

Maury's scores have less discrepancy - they hover at about 38.

Really? What are Watkins' scores exactly? Are you saying they've cracked 3/4 proficient for the first time in history??
