Please. The recovery is on. He's fine. The debt needs to be cut but the parties disagree about how to do it.
The leadership gap is on the republican side. Your first, easiest 38 billion in cuts was a total sham. And your own people will abandon you over the Medicare proposal. That leaves you with a big zero on the deficit. |
he is the president, he is supposed to lead. which he does not. worst president in my lifetime, sadly. |
Ok I think you just disagree with his policies but I will bite. what should he have done to lead on the major issues? |
Well, to begin with he should have been a white man. |
put forth a deficit plan instead of his "punter in chief" budget that he pulls back 2 months later in response to the Ryan plan.
taking a leadership position on Egypt, or Libya or Syria. followed through on his promises regarding Afghanistan, Iraq and the prison in Cuba. just a trainwreck joke, and I can go on and on and on. |
He bombed Libya. I don't like that but I would say it's a leadership position.
With regards to Syria and Egypt, I think it's appropriate for us to take a wait-and-see approach in situations like that. We are not Egyptian. Why should WE be leading Egypt during their revolution? Typical American hubris. Agree on this interminable war(s). However, didn't he try to close Gitmo and Republicans stopped him? And the budget is ALL YOUR FAULT Republicans, don't try to pretend otherwise. |
PP was born in 2009 apparently. |
I'm constantly amazed that--when progressives were on record for years predicting that Iraq and Afganistan would be intractable quagmires which would be nearly impossible to extract ourselves from, when we're proven 100% correct...it's Obama's fault. And yes, Obama tried to close Gitmo, but the Senate blocked that action with most of the heavy lifting done my by the GOP.
War, the Bush Recession, and the Bush Tax Breaks (to "give back the Clinton surplus", boy did *that* one succeed!) make up pretty much the entirety of the current deficit. |
Oh, and just to comprehensively rebut this nonsense, anyone with more than the attention span of a flea remembers that Obama actually released a budget proposal in February. For anyone who's interested in a somewhat balanced breakdown: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra-klein/post/obamas-budget-is-policy-not-philosophy/2011/04/12/AFE1UQYD_blog.html |
that joke does not count. |
Since this is a thread about birthers, let me mention my fear that they will soon make public their demand that we rejoin the British Commonwealth on grounds that the Declaration of Independence is not a genuine Independence Certificate. |
Nothing ever counts unless it's on Glenn Beck's chalkboard. That link was for the adults around here who are interested in politics, not sitting in the basement eating cheetoes and building pipe-bombs. |
Check the kerning! Check the kerning! |
So funny you blame him for not cleaning up your republicans messes fast enough. Sounds like my kids but they are toddlers. Well Iraq is almost done, the GOP is blocking gitmo, he put out a budget you just don't agree with it, Afghanistan is mess but it was for bush too and for the Russians. And republicans can't decide whether we should be in or out of the recent middle east turmoil so I don't see how you have a leg to stand on there. I could go on and on. Your comments aren't about leadership You just don't like his direction. Tell your party they need to pick a direction and stick with it. |
Now Palin is back. And her first thought in politics is to demand that Obama disclose what he did in college.
If she disclosed what she did in college, we'd be staring at macaroni and yarn glued to disposable plates. Look, it spells out the preamble to the constitution in beans! Was this art class or history? |
