Bad Mommy at Clemyjontri

That park sucks. It's way too big, no fence around it to contain them and way too crowded all the time. No fun at all.

Unless you're a SN child and that's the only place you can go to have fun but still all the able children pack the place.

And no shade on the playground area. I feel like I'm a fried egg when I'm out there with the kids.

Ugh, OP. Seriously?

Apparently your kids were never toddlers. Or did you have the hired help deal with them at that age?

They were (are) well educated toddlers. Don't get me wrong here, we get plenty of disciplinary measurements at all times. The difference is that they know who's in charge and it works for us.

To each their own.

What about doing what doctors recommended? Like going out before 10am and after 4pm? Honestly, one doesn't need a doctor's degree to figure that one out.

have you heard of rush hour? That place is impossible to get to before 10am and after 4pm. Just sayin' it sucks b/c there is no shade unless you picnic under the trees. We've been to playgrounds with large plastic canopy/roof-type things, ones with mature trees that cast shade, etc. and this one has none of that despite it's "newness".

We only go to Clemyjontri in the winter when its less crowded.

I'm certainly not defending the "bad" mommy but I have to say that Clemyjontri is a very difficult park to watch a child. The equipment is so big and has so many paths for the children to run on that they can disappear in a tunnel and you are stuck freaking out wondering which hole he's going to pop out of. Not only that but it's so open that they could tear off in any direction...they aren't corralled at all. We went on an incredibly busy Saturday and my husband literally was climbing the equipment with him to keep from losing him while I minding the baby. I'd never go to that park with two kids alone.

It is such a fun place for the little guys but it shaves years off my life whenever we go. I'm pretty laid back in general too. It's just a series of heart attacks and relief. LOL!

YES!!! That is the biggest problem with that park. It is like sitting on a tar roof in Africa. I would never go there in the summer.

WTH didn't they build anything for shade or leave some trees around?!!!

Exactly! Trees would make a world of difference.

LOL . . . did they go to Harvard? Or Yale?

What exactly are your disciplinary measurements? Do you use the metric system?

OP, if you have never had a toddler run away from you on a playground, you are either lying or have a very very dumb child.

No one is perfect. And that's about it. Who knows what was going on in that "bad mommy's" life that day. Maybe she had morning sickness. Maybe she had to make a call about a sick relative. Likely? Maybe not. But does it matter? We all have moments where we aren't superstar parents. OP, do you really not have them too? How old are your kids?
Anonymous
No, OP doesn't have bad moment. Her toddlers are well educated and they use a variety of disciplinary measurements.

It is threads like these that make me question why the hell I still frequent this site. So many posters judge EVERYTHING about how other people parent (breastfeeding and co-sleeping come to mind), however, you now think the OP of this thread is somehow different than you?!?!?! Please.
