I agree re: Natalie Portman - I think she's awful! I can't believe she's successful. There are plenty of pretty faces in the world, I don't understand her success at all. She was just terrible in that Star Wars movie.

I refuse to watch TV news - work, friends, FB, online, newspapers keep me informed I just don't like the glitz & drama of it on TV. That 'if it bleeds it leads' is very big for me.

I have never understood the appeal of reality shows. The Kardishian business. . .I saw one episode where they were stranded after their car broke down. Ahh, why didn't they just hitch a ride with the crew that was filming them?

I don't like the Beatles either. I know they broke new ground in music, blah blah blah. I just find most of their songs boring, and I hate Paul McCartney. (I do find "come together" entertaining - if you read the lyrics, you wonder exactly how much they were smoking when they wrote that song.) I also hate the Dead. Jam bands bore me silly. (Also not Bob Dylan's biggest fan, though I can appreciate his song-writing skills. But not his voice.)

1) I don't get Lady Gaga.
2) I don't get most of popular TV. Never seen Dancing with the Stars or American Idol, and watched one episode of season 1 of Survivor.
3) Why are all these people always on their cell phones, talking or texting? Who are they communicating with?

What's the deal with the Cheescake Factory? Everyone I know thinks it's great. But it's an overpriced, overdecorated, overportioned chain restaurant where everything tastes essentially the same. Yet friends of mine get soooo excited to go.
