I had bad PMS and very irregular periods at your age. Then I had kids in my late 30s and everything improved. Perimenopause didn’t even start until 53 and has been very mild so far. |
| low dose birth control pill to even out hormone levels. Some Pilates and strength training. Regular walks or light cardio. Can't really plan ahead but just be in tune to what could happen so you can take action if you start to notice symptoms. |

| Why is everyone telling OP that she won't be in peri for so long? None of you have any way of knowing that. I am 43 and pretty sure I have been in peri for a few years now. My cycle got shorter and heavier, and now it's becoming very long/intermittent. I am getting more migraines, for which hormones has always been a trigger. More cold sore outbreaks too around the time my cycle hits, which can apparently happen at peri. I overheat at night sometimes which never used to happen. Waking up with anxiety at 3 am and unable to fall back asleep. Just because some of you don't hit peri until closer to 50 doesn't mean it can't happen. I don't think OP should worry about any of it becuase it's ultimately not in her control. But some of you are speaking so authoritatively as though you know when everyone hits peri. Just like the age of first period... it varies. |
