I know you're really just trying to trash Prep, but what an entitled statement that is. If you don't choose a school because you're worried a boarder is going to show up and take your position, then that school's coach probably doesn't want you. D |
Current Urbana coach. Won their 3rd straight state title yesterday over Broadneck. Public school lacrosse in MD has faltered a bit but they do it right at Urbana. |
Do you want to know where a 10th, 11th or 12th grade boarder isn't going to show up and take your spot? |
| Gavin will fit right in at Bullis. He already recruits at Urbana. If he goes to Bullis it won’t be so easy since all the teams do it in private school. |
+100 |
No. Especially if it’s a school we would never consider under normal circumstances. The possibly remote possibility that your starting spot on the Varsity lacrosse team isn’t anywhere near enough a threat to cause people who want to send their boy to Prep for a myriad of reasons to consider Bullis or Landon. |
|
Trust me we would never consider GP for a myriad of reasons. The school reflects Nazi Germany with the token black recruit brought in to play football or basketball.
Zero real diversity at GP, it’s pathetic. |
Probably says more than 1st in IAC |
Dream on regarding GP. That team is losing 17 seniors. The bench is shallow and as of right now the “all-in on boarding” approach has 3 players. You’re right on one thing. The IAC title will be between GP and Landon. The problem is that it’s a championship of mediocrity. No IAC team was in the top 25 in any rating and won’t be next year. |
There’s no chance that GP turns into Culver or WRA. The boarders only comprise 20% of the student body. Second, GP boarding has a horrible reputation for treating its boarders like 2nd class citizens. The reputation is so bad that there will still open rooms on the freshman floor. Third, most of the boarding spots go to football, basketball, and affluent international students. As of right now only three lacrosse boarders have enrolled for next year. Finally, why would you play in the IAC? |
|
I can assure you prep has more than 3 boarders on its rosters last spring.
Its entire starting attack unit were boarders, as was the goalie, and there was a senior transfer defender from Canada who was a boarder. I’m sure there are others I’m missing. Agree with you that GP has a long way to go be even in the same sentence as the reputable boarding schools in New England but they have certainly made some strides in the past 5 years. |
GP can never be on par with New England schools ( reclass haters deal with it they exist in the DMv). First, they play a harder type of lacrosse with more diversity of players. Second, the IAC has become weak from inbreeding. GP draws from basically 3 club programs. None of which rank nationally. If there’s any doubt tell me how many teams from the IAC figure in the top 25 in any ranking. |
Are you being serious? Madlax and next level are consistently ranked in the top 25 nationally |
Down year for the IAC this spring but I could see the Hoyas crack the national top 25 in the final poll. Hoyas started slow with a brand new coaching staff but played their best style of ball in May when it mattered most. In 2025, Landon was ranked #10 by US Lacrosse in their final poll. In 2024, Landon was ranked #5 by US Lacrosse In 2023, GP was ranked #4 by U.S. Lacrosse. Something tells me both GP and Landon will be stronger in 2027. |
Look at your trendline by year. It’s steadily going lower in the rankings. GP is losing 17 seniors. That math makes no sense. |
