I know my daughter's AG the 2013 team is actually really strong despite their record (well they are strong on D get a ton of ties). I have no clue how they are as a club overall in regards to coaching/development, but they put together some talented teams.

The only ECNL team in the area ranked higher than them is FVU, yet MDU U13s are 7th in NA. There are only 2 GA teams in the area ranked higher, one of which they beat in Jeff Cup and the other is a North Mid Atlantic team in MD.

Good teams find ways to win. 5-6-8 is a terrible record with more losses and ties than wins. They aren’t even the top team in MD at their age group and their ranking doesn’t match their results. I will say however say that they are probably one of the better MDU teams overall and that the NA is in fact more competitive than MA.

For all of their faults, I would put them up against any GA team. BSC is obviously #1 but MDU is the second best in the state which I guess counts for something.

I'm a BSC parent and always felt like when we play them they are so predictable. No scoring threats either, they just don't work the ball up the field. My daughter is moving down with the age group change so we won't see them anymore.

2013s with SV next year?

Sure they will learn grow and develop with him at the helm.
He has a proven track record.

SV, proven track record? Guy yells at the ref for fouls and corners all game long. Loves to yell "END IT" which is is MDU coach speak for kick it out of bounds.

Only thing proven at MDU is they finish in the bottom half of the table at every age group. Unless PDA cheats and they get credit for a couple wins and move into a playoff spot.

Probably behind Celtic (mostly the former Old Line kids), but otherwise this is spot on (my daughter also moving to the younger AG!)

Multiple players have left that club and gone to Bethesda and within 2 years ended up on the National team, recruited top schools and were competing for things. All of their teams are mid table or lower every year. Lots of players with potential and they waste their developmental at that club.

So let me understand this correctly, MDU develops players, then the move to Bethesda for exposure to get on National team and recruited to top schools?

lol, yep, just go with that understanding

Funny, how else would you interpret....Multiple players have left that club and gone to Bethesda and within 2 years ended up on the National team, recruited top schools and were competing for things.

The 2011 MDU ECNL is a good team, they have had bad luck in terms of injuries the past few years. I am hearing their roster is looking really strong for next year and only a couple of players left to go elsewhere. Coppermine 2011 is looking good as well. Betheseda and Pipeline 2011 ECNL not so much. I have not heard anything about Celtic or Armour 2011.

It’s been bad luck for years??? In reality they have consistently been middle to lower of the pack. Not sure how they are going to be dramatically better next year if they didn't add some stars.

Are you also hearing that 2011 MDU ECNL best player is leaving? Calling them a good team and putting Bethesda and Pipeline 2011 ECNL in the same group of 'not so much' shows you have no idea what you're talking about. You have not heard anything about the only other GA teams. Thanks!

Why do you people bother commenting here? It's hard enough we have to listen to this clueless stream of consciousness on the sidelines, please spare us this mush of nothing here.

Penn Fusion. People would rather drive 100 miles if given the opportunity. Should speak volumes to their coach but it won't, his ego is far too big. But hey at least he picked up another McD girl lol

MDU lost to Penn Fusion 0-5, and only lost to BSC 1-2 either she didn't play the Penn Fusion game and did BSC game or she isn't really that good of a player. I believe MDU has also been playing with a goalie that is in 7th grade starting with the Ukies game. My understanding is the goalie got hurt and is out until the next season.
