Good somewhat premium beer with broad appeal for a gathering at our home?

Some people don’t drink Yuengling for political reasons

Then they can drink tap water.

Everyone likes Modelo.

If you are picking the beer because of the aesthetic appeal of the bottles . . . I just don't know.

I want nothing to do with eating or drinking at your house, because your priorities are entirely out of whack.

Shut up dork. All of these domestic and “imported” macro beers basically taste the same. They’re 99% marketing. People ideally want something light and lower calorie. Something they can knock back two or three of and still drive home.

-Dogfish Ale - Slightly Mighty (low cal)
-Lagunitas: IPA, Lil Sumpin
-Devils Backhone - Vienna LAger
-Bells Two Hearted
-Bear Republic Racer 5
-Stone IPA
-Non Alcoholic Athletic

If you are fancy - Maine beer Company Lunch is the way

I don't think there is one beer that would satisfy everyone. I would pick up 3 different 4 packs.

Agree. Part of the fun of beer is trying different kinds. The Athletic beers are ALL good, IMO. These are all solid choices. I'd do one more mainstream one, like Corona, an Athletic, and I'd probably pick Bells or Stone from this list.

I concur. It’s what we always buy for a dinner party. Fwiw I think the bottles are cute too.

Agree with the Stella/IPA combination.

Yeungling, Corona, and Modelo are no better than Bud Light or Miller Lite.

Wheat Beers (Hefe/Blue Moon) are an acquired taste.

Does anyone under 65 drink Sam Adams or Amstel anymore?

Well, thanks for confirming all of the things that everyone would thin about someone who chooses beer based on the "prettiest bottle."

You do not have an idea and that's fine. Your upscale options are no different than coors or miller lite and no guiness/ipas aren't offensive. Maybe pick up some variety packs from a local brewery. Most breweries put out 12 packs with a 3 or 4 different types (I guess it depends where you are located).

I am on the road a lot for work. Heineken, Red Stripe, and Corona seem to be always listed on 4-star hotel, airline, airport lounge, and upscale restaurant menus as premium beers.

Yeah and they're total crap generic lagers. I don't know a single thing about wine, but I think it'd be like saying "Kendal Jackson" is high end.

I would do:
Sierra Nevada
Sam Adams lager or seasonal
Mich Ultra

That should hit all the bases.

I’ll come to your party!
I’ll even bring some sip of sunshine!

Don’t overthink it. Mich Ultra bottles at one degree above freezing. Nobody wants obscure hoppy heavy beer at a social gathering.

If you do this, make sure they are actually different. Some breweries will have the IPA, the other IPA, the Juicy IPA, and the double IPA in a pack. Not the broad appeal you're looking for. Generally the variety pack is a solid idea, though.

A million times this.

I'm well educated, well traveled, high disposable income, and couldn't care less about alcohol so don't drink much. When I buy wine on the rare occasion or for dinner at a friend's house I just get something around $30 and with a nice looking label. Seems to do the trick.

In OP's circumstances I'd just get easygoing wheat beers and maybe some IPAs. Whenever I'm at a party the beers are typically the common beers mentioned on here, and those are at pretty upscale houses.
