DP. The lie is that this was partisan and anything to do with RWNJ. Democrats with kids living in Nova went into an uproar. THAT is what killed it. |
It was 100% pushed hard by RWNJs leading up to the gubernatorial election. They may not have been the only people who were initially concerned but they pushed lies about it long after VADOE clarified. Anyone who voted for Youngkin over this was a RWNJ or duped by them. |
+1 |
The PP is a fanatical local, who is incorrect and increasingly off topic of what has occurred in San Francisco. Getting back to the facts, here is a good article on the what/who/ why of San Francisco’s recent decision: https://missionlocal.org/2026/03/san-francisco-algebra-middle-school/ |
This was the original off topic, false comment that has been disproven countless times: “VA was on track to do something similar“ Anyone still pushing this lie in 2026 is either a RWNJ or duped by them. |
Thx! Thats an interesting link. The site is also interesting b/c its a bilingual local independent online news site which covers new mostly on the Mission District of San Francisco, but also N. CA in general. |
I watched the YouTube video that VA DOE posted at that time. Eliminating algebra from middle school absolutely what was being proposed. The video was taken down shortly after and the position walked back, but there's no need to gaslight now. I'm a dem and was super upset by the proposal. I still voted dem (and still do), but the governor and state reps absolutely heard from me. It was a terrible proposal. |
DP, and I agree with you 100%. The person you replied to has been trying to gaslight people on DCUM for years; even since VMPI (thankfully) failed. She is dishonest to the core. She also, typically resorts to childish insults when anyone points out her lies. Not sure why this forum still tolerates her. It’s highly likely she works in Gatehouses’ DEIA office, or possibly the VA dept of ed, and tried to force VMPI on us. |
Yep I watched that video too. Pretty sure our AART sent out the link. It definitely discussed eliminating it. |
NP and +1. I'm a middle school teacher in FCPS and remember this. Most math teachers were adamantly against the proposal. |
No, it wasn't. I watched all of the videos at the time. None were taken down. Stop lying. |
More lies. You must have a lot of free time on your hands to fabricate so many untruths. RWNJ lies have been debunked here countless times. Happy to do it again if you'd like. |
You must have started paying attention after it had been taken down. But it absolutely was posted by VA DOE. There were even threads on this board discussing it. |
Yes, I am very aware of the early videos. I provided recaps of them on DCUM. What do you think the videos said? Careful. I have receipts. Are you going to continue to lie? |
| VA Democrats will work to dumb down the math curriculum again now that they have full control in Richmond. Can’t let them succeed. |
