No Kings 3 on March 28

I am wearing a wig, a mask and glasses. And I'm taking public transit so ICE can't scan my license plate. And I'm carrying a burner phone. I'm taking no chances. This protest will be huge. I will be part of it, and so will all of my democracy loving friends.

There's no reason you can't do both!!

I've quit Amazon, Target, all social media, any business owned by Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, etc. etc.

I only shop at local businesses, and I participate in boycotts. They do make a difference. We made these bad people into billionaires, and we can end their wealth by boycotting their businesses.

Do what you can. You can do both!!

White women stupidly elected a conman felon.

White people need to clean up their mess.

Black women can rightfully put their feet up.

—white woman who understood the assignment and is giving a side-eye to her very disappointing fellow GenX

What’s up with people announcing what age group they’re in by way of the name given. Why not just say I’m 55 if you think age is relevant.

No, Black women cannot put their feet up. They live in this country. Everyone needs to step up. The White women mostly in northern states who voted for Harris are stepping up.

Black woman here. Not risking my life for yall anymore, thanks. We've done our marching, our campaigning, our pleading for change, our voting. Yall rejected us and voted for Trump. Like PP said, you all can fix it now. I wash my hands of it. I will do what I can to protect myself and my family, and if things get bad enough I will leave. But I couldn't give less of AF about this country and most of the people in it at this point, and I too am side eyeing most white people over the age of 35. You all say the right things, but the votes reveal the truth. And most white people might not hate people like me, but you don't care enough to sacrifice literally anything. So I'm done. Clean up your own mess.

Economic strikes never work, people are addicted to their conveniences.

Tell that to Target. You sound like one of those people who assume that your own “people” and your own limitations somehow also represent the rest of us too. Smaller but consistent efforts will have an impact. Larger consistent efforts will have larger impacts. Maybe what you mean is that the successful strikes and boycotts never “worked” because they didn’t affect you personally.

As someone who attended public schools and used public transportation, I owe many of my accomplishments to opportunities that were made available to me because boycotts, strikes, and protests “work”. They may not work immediately, and they may not impact the lives of people already privileged by systems designed to benefit them, but they do work.

No Kings organizers need to address their insularity and lack of solidarity for minorities if they want to be a viable political group.

Until then, it’s just a bunch of limousine liberals.

And good for the limousine liberals for using their power in beneficial ways.

I specifically called out GenX because they voted for Trump in greater numbers than Trump, which is highly disappointing.

Someone else answered your second weak, misguided assertion.

Please educate yourself.

No, you cannot talk to people like that. There is a problem with the No King rallies attracting a certain segment only. Why? Figure it out. If you don’t want to figure it out then go ahead and scream into the wind at a rally that accomplishes nothing.

Ok. Putting feet up is definitely the answer. That's going to get so much done.

But it’s not true that these protests only attract a certain segment of the population. Have you been to one? Also, looking forward to some former MAGA joining this one. They might have some excellent signs! Like the “I’m an idiot” PA woman. And they will be welcome. It’s time for all hands on deck at this point.

It would have the same outcome.
