Agree 100%. There is no justification for this war at this time. I fear that the media is going to keep repeating the shifting excuses offered by the administration instead of relentlessly questioning why we are doing this.
We just got out of two forever wars and we've jumped right back in instead of focusing on our problems at home. I hate Trump, but the one thing he had going for him in my view was the promise of no more foreign wars.
I think the worst part is that the public is so apathetic and increasingly ignorant that there's a real lack of understanding of what this means globally. It's almost assured that China will move against Taiwan now. We're damaging Arab alliances in the Middle East that might have been the one bright spot from the forever wars. We've lost our authority as an international power whose influence and opinion was respected - and that lack of moral authority will have long, far reaching consequences. I think we have also guaranteed some level of economic ruin - maybe mild, maybe catastrophic.
A sad end to an era of peace and American dominance. That it only took a decade to really nosedive is astonishing.
