“Target is not an ‘everything store,’” Says CEO , “That’s not what guests want from us.”

Target used to have cute kids clothes that were nice quality for the price. Now its trash.

It's a corporate greed problem. Nobody wants to pay anybody to do honest work. It's all outsourced or aI or just left undone or done by a few underpaid and overstretched employees. Same with schools, nursing, you name it.

No, Target was supposed to be about convenience, at a higher quality/trust level than Amazon and Walmart. Amazon and Walmart are absolutely flooded with Chinese counterfeit and the cheapest crap. Target always had cheap crap, but also decent quality basics. Plus, I could swing by and get a frozen vegetable, packaged snacks for the sports team, a bottle of wine for a get together, and a birthday card and kid's dress shirt all in one stop.

Target, Amazon, and Walmart are ALL supposed to be everything stores. Trader Joe's is not an everything grocer, but people go there for certain items and to find fun items. Maybe the CEO thinks Target is supposed to be like Trader Joe's.

For the Merona and Circo fans, where do you find your 100% cotton items now?

Yup, people who like treasure hunts went to the 99 cent, which of course are all closed now.

Target needs a woman CEO who shopped at Target for her family frequently before COVID.

Oh please. I am a man who is with my baby every day and who frequently goes to Target just like any Mom. Thanks for ignoring the fact that Fathers exist and ship at Target just like any Woman.

Statistically more women than men shop at a Target and buy more items.

You frequently shop at Target now so don’t understand it used to be way better. They had a much better selection of baby clothings and baby items.

I still use Target a lot as an "everything store," though I mostly shop online or in-store pick up. They have a lot of random stuff/brands online that aren't theirs / they don't sell in-store and I find that to be distracting and annoying. Too much like Amazon or Walmart's online experience.

It makes sense compared to WalMart, Costco etc where they have services (like optical) and expanded grocery. Target has a decent grocery selection but not everything under the sun. I find target less overwhelming to shop in person than, for example, Walmart. And I would hate if their online store started selling all the crappy reseller junk that’s on Amazon.

The brands at Target are all just Target. The brands are just a game they play with us (and we with them). It's all just Target brand.

I know they were in-house Target brands, but they were better quality than the in-house Target brands they sell today.

For baby clothes who cares?

A lot of people do. My kid’s old Circo clothes are still going strong with the hand-me-downs with the cousins. They look good and have held up their shape. The new stuff lasted a season.

I still have tshirts from 15 years ago patter in good shape. They were affordable and long lasting.

At the rates kids grow out of things I didn't really care about good quality 2T clothes. Maybe they are focusing on other things like diapers, strollers, bottles and wipes and less on baby clothes since people seem to need the necessities more often. Circo was crap too, I never bought those.

Well, you used to be able to shop at a lot of baby stores like Buy, Buy, Baby. I used to buy my kids clothes at Gymboree before it went downhill. Carter's used to have more store fronts, they're mostly gone too. Target is just following the industry trends where baby clothes must be unprofitable so Amazon has cornered the market for cheap clothes.

What did he say guests want them for?

This guy is a moron. I haven't stepped foot in a target in 8 or 9 years. F that.

As long as they keep the same day pick up option, I hope they stay in business.

I hate this attitude. We should just eat our slop and be happy we got the food that was doled out?

There are plenty of people who miss the old Target. Why is it wrong to want to shop in a place where shelves are restocked overnight, with products that are of good quality like 100% cotton, where it is easy to find things, and the design isn’t garish.

I miss shopping in person at a place where I frequently ran into the families that went to my kids school and played on past school teams, neighbors, acquaintances, etc. It was a way of keeping in touch and led to a better sense of community. Now I just shop online.

What an absolute moron.

What is this his salary? And where the did he go to college? I have so many questions.

So you could go in and they maybe didn’t have as broad a selection of shower curtains but they were really cute ones. And they dkdnt sell every brand of snacks but they had a bunch of really tasty ones.
They’ve sort of lost their way on that curating. As a result, I’m much less likely to shop there. Especially the clothes—it’s just much less likely that I walk in and end up with an impulse clothing purchase because I see it and am tempted.

This.

Currently they're not good at anything. I don't understand people who shop there weekly unless you have young children. Their groceries are limited and not priced well. The clothes and home furnishings aren't nice. It's all less than mid.

It fills the void between the grocery stores and Costco.

I care. It was nice to be able to reuse play clothes for multiple kids, both from a budget and eco standpoint.

I go there to buy toiletries (cheaper than drugstores and supermarket). And pop in to sport snacks for team snack times, along with gift cards for kid birthdays. And multipack kids socks. That's about it. I used to go ALL THE TIME and buy random home or office items that were cute, kids decor, kids clothing and womens clothing.
