Norwood’s website has a job positing for a new assistant director of admissions and a job posting for the director of admissions starting July 2026.

Did Alex leave? The other guy that was there when we applied a couple of years ago was awful.

I would be surprised if Norwood had 2 K classes of 20 each. That’s high. I would think they would max at 16 kids/class

They have 2 FT teachers in each K class of 20.

Did you ask Alex why admission is so low in K?

I toured with Carson. I didn’t ask why K was so low. I probably should have asked but it felt borderline rude in the moment. And Carson was very kind. Glad to hear he is on paternity leave, I’m sure he is a great dad.

We applied to Norwood for K and had the worst experience by far of all schools. Admissions teams was overly formal or rushed in our interactions and clearly overwhelmed, regularly citing being understaffed.

Where did you like better? We are looking for next year. I’d to stay in Potomac/Bethesda but that does limit my options.

+1

Turned down a spot in PK last year. Way too expensive for just a K-8 school. We chose Primary Day. Smaller classes at Primary Day too.

We had friends turn them down for K last year in favor of Woods Academy. Not sure our friends were ever serious about paying Norwood tuition though.

14 in a K class would be ideal for my DC - wonder if they’ll keep the smaller class size model.

Anyone talk to Alex or Carson at Norwood recently? I understand they are both leaving but are they already gone?

Alex is there through the end of the school year, and Carson is on paternity leave.
