Tell me why the boundary changes are

I’m sure it’s scary and frustrating to change schools and boundaries but the kids will be ok. I say that as a former Wootton zoned kid who became a rezoned RM kid in the 80s with Ritchie Park. Some parents lost their minds. The kids were fine. Will even be easier for kids if they all move together to the new school.

Do we really need another thread with Wootton people claiming they shouldn’t be moved while ignoring they aren’t the only folk impacted by a boundary study, nor recognizing that their school remodeling is not actually the most important.
People seem tone deaf that community concern might actually involve other communities in the county.

Lots of kids will be moving from one to another school. What's special about Wootton kids moving?

Just because the kids will allegedly be fine (they won’t) doesn’t mean it’s either right or even legal to adopt Option H the way MCPS is doing it.

You’re thinking this is no big deal. Well, it is for both parents and kids.

Wootton kids and parents aren’t the only ones complaining. Gaithersburg is also complaining loudly, as are parents at other schools because of their boundary changes, but you don’t seem to care about them (or are conveniently ignoring them to push your anti-Wootton narrative).

Go listen to the testimonies. You’ll get your answers.

What is Gaithersburg's complaint? Taylor's recommendation assigns the closeby Gaithersburg areas to Wootton at Crown.

Gaithersburg's complaints were addressed when Fields Road ES was moved over.
