Bad grade in college

You need to get help for your anxiety. You should not be wishing your child never told you bad things so that you wouldn't have to worry about them. Because getting that wish will be very hard on your child. My mother has ridiculous untreated anxiety (that she's transmitted to me, but I get help for it) and I've basically stopped telling her anything of consequence about my life because she'll just wring her hands about everything and lay awake at night thinking about it and it makes me feel like I have to walk on eggshells and manage it for her. It has badly affected my life and it makes me very angry that she knows she has this problem and does nothing about it to stop it eating herself and everyone around her.

Get a grip. For your sake and his. He needs to be able to share hard things with you and not worry about how you will handle it.

I find it difficult personally and don’t ask much. My ds was venting about doing poorly in Chem but followed that up with saying he figured out what he did wrong in terms of studying. I tried to be encouraging. Do I worry? Yes, because his goal is PT school and it probably matters but I can’t do anything about it.
