Umm yes that’s what offices closed means. My dh cannot telework so he get weather leave.

It’s apparently left to agency leadership on whether to grant it and my agency has explicitly said it won’t offer it to non-telework employees which is why almost everyone has signed one. I saw over on reddit some people say the same but others seemed to say they expected to get admin leave which made me think some agencies are allowing it.

No, this is wrong. They can't make you telework, and if the office is closed you can't come in. So it's admin leave.

So you are right they can’t make you sign a telework agreement (that’s voluntary) but they don’t have to grant you admin leave. You are expected to use your own leave.

Mine doe (EPA). But hardly anyone is a non telework employee (at least in my office).

Just open with unscheduled telework or liberal leave in place and never wanted to give the impression the govt is closed. Funny how this admin liberally uses the word closed but optics really isn’t their thing.

You’re wrong. The government has always had and maintained a closure status for those of us who work in jobs that do not allow for telework. (They briefly tried to abdicate it last year under DOGE but seem to have corrected course.)

Many daycares and businesses have traditionally followed OPM’s status.

I went out and tried to clear my driveway, but gave up after 15 minutes. There's nowhere to put the snow unless I take the massive jerk route and pile it into the neighbors' yards on both sides of me.

You all put the snow on your yards. Yards dont matter regarding snow.

Is your driveway bounded on both sides by neighbors? Are you on a pipestem?

Townhouse, so only a sliver of rocks separates the driveways on both sides.

Russell Vought must be disappointed he can’t inflict more pain on us. He must be livid.

They did not have to make admin leave a government-wide policy but they did, and updated it as recently as last month. It says that unless you are an emergency employee or a telework/remote employee or on travel outside the affected region, you should get weather and safety leave.

Mine does also, and almost everyone is a non-telework employee.

My site outside the Beltway (but still in the storm path!) is on a 2 hour delay. I'm not happy.

Your HOA needs to step up and get professionals in there.
