13 snow days built in. If they used them all (they won’t), they switch to virtual school). |
| I think getting the buses started in the extreme cold (before 7am) will be a factor. |
It just takes time to clear hard packed cement like ice and snow. It has nothing to do with being embarrassed. Go look at the crosswalks by your house over the next few days. No one clears those and you can't have 12 year olds bounding a pile of snow and ice to cross a street. You can't have kids walking in the street instead of the sidewalks. So get outside and help clear things. Do extra shoveling. Find a cross walk and help shovel that clear. |
| PG County closed until Friday at the earliest. With APS already closed Friday best to assume no school this week. |
| when do we think they will call it and how many of us think school will happen tomorrow. |
There is no way school is happening tomorrow. The 36 hour ordinance means sidewalks don’t even have to be shoveled until tomorrow morning and if they’re not done by tonight then they’re going to freeze solid from 10° temps. |
Our street hasn't been plowed yet, so I'm assuming we'll be closed tomorrow. |
| CWG Schoolcast says 95% chance of closure Tuesday. |
School will not open tomorrow. My street is showing on the Arlington map as one you would think is better than most but in reality it’s covered in snow and ice. My kids are sledding on it. |
| 75% of our neighbors haven’t shoveled yet. |
| Closed tomorrow! |
I’ve tried and there’s no breaking through the ice. |
Thats why you were supposed to do it multiple times yesterday. Lazy people. |
Yup it’s official! |
And this is early in the day for them to do it so it wasn’t a close call. With deep freeze coming and no school Friday we should just assume no school this week. |
