Don't go to Costco at Fairfax now (10am)

All the people who would have gone shopping Saturday through Monday all came on Wednesday, so it’s four days worth of crowds squeezed into one. To compound that, most people who would have gone shopping Thursday or Friday also came on Wednesday so they could get supplies before everything ran out. See how it works?

It’s Thursday. All day.

If I lived in Fairfax and was potentially looking at a week of school closures (they have already scheduled a half-day Wednesday and closed Thursday and Friday, now there's a very a good chance they will close Monday and then....just close Tuesday and half of Wednesday) with no ability to shop this weekend--yes, I need to go to Costco today or tomorrow to buy a week's worth of snacks and meals for a houseful of bored kids.

But arguably last weekend you bought enough for this week and you’ll be able to drive again by Tuesday, or Wednesday at the latest. So it’s just a couple extra days.

The gas station is also packed as well.

Dude. That place is the Hunger Games on a good day and time. You're a glutton for punishment to go within 72 hours of a winter event.

You’re privileged. Some people can only afford a week worth of supplies. But for this it’s probably people thinking they’re going to be snowed in for a week and just want to be extra sure they have everything.

Um if you're using 36 rolls of tp a week from costco, maybe see a doctor

Um, do you know how many people are in a household. Maybe they need that many? -DP not the one above

+1. Unless there are 36 household members, 36 rolls should last more than a week.

Three times in a row, someone took my stuff out of my cart and stole it. Three times!

Unbelievable.

I hate the FFX Costco so much. I live near Tyson's and go to the one in Chantilly.

I’m genuinely confused about someone stealing out of a cart once, let alone thrice. Do you walk away from it for long intervals?

This happened to me there, too, but has never happened at any other store. Not sure what is particular about that location.

What?? Like when you were loading it into your car?

When is it ever a good time to go to Costco?

Weekdays are usually pretty good other than lunchtime (12-2) as long as it's not right before Christmas, Thanksgiving, or a snowstorm. The last hour before close is also usually ok.

Right, the last hour before closing, particularly on Mondays, is actually a good time to go, even to the Fairfax store (at least under ordinary circumstances).

I like preschool naptime thru elementary dismissal time. All the retirees are long gone and the moms with little kids are otherwise engaged and most other people are working.
