Just know that this makes everything more expensive for everyone and lawyers get most of the $ |
That's a lie. |

I do all the time. Earlier this year I got a $100 Visa card. I think it was for myschoolbucks.
I've gotten a lot of checks over the years. I didn't the get the 23 and me, so I need to look into it. Pissed about that one! |
| I got a 320 dollar check today. |
| Im expecting a pretty big one hopefully! |
The elite university one? |
Nope. A nearby business building turned into a factory that emitted an absolutely horrible smell rendering our backyards/ open windows unusable for 4 years. |
Oh, wow that's horrible. Good luck to you! |
| What is the downside? It just takes a few minutes of your time. It's even better these days because they can send the payments to Venmo. No more waiting for a random check to show up. |

I have, but those were legit and I knew they were. Now I get some that I know are not legit, so I ignore all.
I actually decided to do less of everything like consuming, buying, exchanging and all troubles have disappeared including having to return something or getting a wrong things. Life is easier this way. |
Lawyer here. This is not really accurate. Lawyers do get a chunk, yes, but it is usually a percentage (say 15%) of the total settlement and must be approved by the parties and then a judge. One can argue it’s a lot, but it’s definitely not ‘most of it’. The real sleeper issue is that many settlements are structured as ‘reversions’ and whatever isn’t collected by the plaintiffs goes back to the company. So there can be a wink wink understanding between the parties to make collection less than easy. Lawyers still get their % off the top. |
