No one cares. Norte Dame is a religious school and you are just digging yourself deeper with your ridiculous semantics.

While the exact number fluctuates, the University of Notre Dame has a significant number of priests, many from the Congregation of Holy Cross, who serve as faculty and in campus ministry, living alongside students to embody its Catholic mission, though specific faculty counts are often bundled with other Holy Cross members or categorized by department rather than just priesthood status.

For starters, not "many" -- ALL -- of the priests involved are Holy Cross. But that doesn't mean that the school is, to quote you, "literally run by the Catholic Church." It isn't.

In the New York City area, consider Hofstra.

My DD is at Brandeis. She is not religious at all and has had no issues finding friends and a community.

Why would you ask such a thing?

Doesn't have stats for T20, I think Emory and Tufts are too reach-y. Villanova and Brandeis feel like reasonable targets, but I don't know if DC would go for the religious aspect. What else could we look at?

Drexel?
AU?

If she is not too strict about being right near they are to a big city, consider Lehigh or Wake Forest.

If you are willing to go bigger (20K undergrads) and need to be right in a city, consider BU, USC and McGill.

Hofstra is nowhere near any of the schools being thrown around on this thread in terms of academics. It's ranked 183rd.

How about Clarke?

+1. There is lots to do in Richmond.

Villanova and Brandeis are poorly ranked schools lots of better options for $95k a year.
