Recommend cross body purse for travel to Europe

I used this in Paris a couple of months ago and was very happy with it. I was specifically looking for a very lightweight crossbody with a top handle and this was perfect. I find that a cross body can get heavy on my neck and shoulders and I like to be able to lengthen the strap a bit and carry it on my wrist by the top handle sometimes in order to get the weight off my neck/shoulders. Sounds awkward but it works for me.

Agree with this rec. I have this bag and what I do when in a high pickpocket area (like others said, plenty of those areas in the US, too) is to wear it as a crossbody and then link a hand through the little straps. It is extra precaution plus lightens the weight of the bag on my neck and shoulder.

I got the Quince sling bag after comparing it with the similar MZ Wallace bag as well as a few other options. I have backpacks, but wanted something a little different. This can be worn around the waist, as a shoulder bag, and as a cross body bag. It’s big enough to hold all of my essentials— phone, wallet, keys, small cosmetic bag — plus a small-ish water bottle and a foldable hat or small scarf. It has multiple pockets, and offers quite a bit of flexibility. It’s perfect for travel and other activities where I’d like a lightweight hands-free option.

Use some common sense and don't tempt pickpocketers with a bag with logos screaming money.

Yes, plus a compact folding umbrella and a few other things like my old school folded bamboo fan. I should say that the water bottle is a small 16 Oz Zojirushi, and my wallet and iPhone are on the smaller side. What I like about this bag is that it can be worn in multiple ways that are quite secure — including as a shoulder bag tucked under my arm. It’s also lightweight and nicely priced.

Apologies! I clicked the link and saw a page with multiple bags. The bag that I have is the Transit Quilted Sling Bag.

Or use the locks on the Amazon link provided by another poster up thread.

I was just in Europe women were getting robbed left and right with their cross bodies that did not have locks.

Did you actually see this happening? It sounds like a complete exaggeration. I've been in different parts of Europe quite a few times, spending 99% of the time in very touristy destinations (so where people always say pickpocketing happens), and NEVER seen a pickpocket, and always carry a crossbody or backpack.

You don't travel much do you?

We were just in Italy three people on our tour were pick pocketed.

Paris two friends got their wallets stolen a month ago.

Barcelona same.

Peru three .....

You don't a "see pickpocket" moron.

We're well seasoned travelers and 2/3 of my travel companions were just robbed in France. It was phones they wanted.

The crossbody I carried in Italy has a thick leather strap, it's not something you can cut in a few seconds. I didn't have any problems in Italy but would definitely recommend a bag with a sturdy leather strap that can't be cut in a few seconds. Just keep the crossbody in the front and then you will be good.
