This year's ED gets harder at certain colleges. It may be due to the change in policy.

It's the best year in recent memory at many top privates.
This is what I'm hearing and seeing from friends in NYC, especially for legacy and full pay.

Except Brown took many from the waitlist, so not really.

Last year was atypical, normally a very small number off waitlist. Not sure why their numbers were off that led to that.

Maybe a bunch of international students backed out due to Trump’s chaos re visa policies?

I think Duke had an unusually high number of WL additions late in the summer, as well, and I assumed that was why.

Yes. We keep hearing the same.

Multiple T10s took a higher percentage of private school kids in ED this year than in prior years.

Meanwhile there are plenty of full-pay and potential donor families who send their kids to public school. But maybe it’s too much work for admissions to identify them compared to the known private school donor families?

I blame Trump for this. His harassment of universities and outrageous funding cuts have forced a new level of college money grabs. Ugly.

Not at Notre Dame this year.

Our school does pretty badly when it comes to Ivies. This year we’ve had 3 early Ivy admits (all ED) who are all Asian. Interesting!
