Plenty of turning point supporters and evangelicals. It’s time you come to terms with the fact that crazy people do have followers that will vote the way they are told, even if it’s against their own best interests.

NP. Yes, plenty of people outside of your progressive bubbles like and respect Erika Kirk and J.D. Vance. But, please, keep babbling on about how we vote against our own best interests because we don't vote the way you think we should. This is a really winning talking point for you guys.

No one likes Erika. Have you seen the abysmal numbers on the YT? She's been on this media blitz to try to raise those numbers back up. She spoke with Candace to make sure AmFest wasn't a complete flop, but they seem to have decided that pro wrestling storylines are the way to go. Not sure who the heel is, Shapiro or Tucker?

FWIW my kids went to ND, HC and BC (not necessarily in that order)

And they are graduates of the Catholic Conference HS system + Ursuline

No one needs an annulment these days, that’s stuff that’s like 70 years old

He is Catholic. He will need an annulment.

You don’t need an annulment these days, I promise you.

You just get a divorce. I can almost guarantee you they don’t go to Sunday Mass unless you can name his parish

Catholicism is a whole lot of performative stuff these days

Catholic Churches are barren except for older people

Even Catholic schools are more dominated now by kids of other faiths who are simply fleeing their public schools because they’re terrible

This applies to most churches except Megachurches. My grandparents very old fashioned baptist church is slowly but surely dying.

I agree. I was only sort of dragged into the Catholic Church 40 years ago when I got married. My in-laws at the time were still so deeply into the church that they wouldn’t let us live together before marriage (even though we were adults) and made sure we did that whole pre-cena weekend where professed celibate Jesuit brothers were supposed to teach us how to be married couples. OK

But then they had one daughter who got pregnant at work by a divorced guy 15 years her senior. The church wouldn’t let them get married in their parish they’d been attending for decades and suddenly they didn’t go to Mass at that church anymore. Even though I had to for what felt like 800 sundays. The last I remember it, they actually had to build out because the original building couldn’t house all the people who wanted to come to Mass on Sunday.

Now they’re kind of a desolate building complex and I wonder when something will just buy up the property. It doesn’t produce income anymore.

Also there used to be a “retirement building” at my son’s Catholic prep school somewhat affectionately called “The Brother Barn” … they’re all dead now and the building has been repurposed completely to be academic.

stuff is dying out

My in-laws didn’t even recognize Biden as a fellow Catholic. They just thought “Democrat”

He would if he had a “legitimate” marriage in the first place. Fortunately for him he converted after he married. He can have his civil divorce and his Catholic wedding, too.

If you have a marriage recognized by the Catholic Church, divorce, and want to remarry with your new marriage recognized by the church (as a sacrament) you do have to get a Catholic annulment.

In JD's case, his marriage is valid even though it wasn't Catholic to begin with. Usha would have to convert for their marriage to be recognized as a Catholic marriage. If he divorced, he would still have to get an annulment through the church to have a Catholic (recognized as a sacrament) marriage with another Catholic.

That’s all pretty valid. But my very Catholic in-laws certainly recognize every single marriage conducted subsequently without Catholic oversight

Just cruise ship vacation type stuff.

I think I was the 1st and only one before SIL changed up the game and in-laws got all upset that the Catholic Church didn’t somehow consider them special and give them a dispensation. She was already pregnant anyway.

I was still a parent in the days when CCD got you out of athletic practices on Wednesday evenings and the team was at half-staff.

Do not know if they do that anymore.

I am already culturally way more Catholic than JD Vance is.

I went to so much more Catholic stuff over time than I even did studying my major in college

And I don’t even consider myself Catholic, even though all my children have been baptized Catholic and I was pretty much forced through the regimen. The gestures, the phrases the whole thing.

He’s a religious carpetbagger. He’s not Catholic.

BTW only comparing myself as someone who wasn’t raised Catholic and “converting”

I was raised Episcopalian because my dad thought that was the church filled with the socialites he wanted to associate with and my mom who was raised by her grandparents actually did come from England.

It’s kind of the same church, Henry VIII wasn’t that creative a lot of the stuff is the same or close to the same. It’s familiar.

You sing more in the Episcopalian Church, or in as far as I remember.

If you’re already in the White House, there is no higher authority in the US right now

No one in the US gov’t is bending over anymore for the approval of a religious organization. Not overseas, not in the US.

Times are different.

Just random, but if Vance wanted to get a divorce, he would just get one and whatever this 45-47 cult is would just imbue his new union with God’s approval

Or the bots. IDK

1) BIPOC doesn’t include Asians.

2) I think you mean wasn’t JD Vance’s first wife POC?

Not to get pedantic but the I in BIPOC is Indigenous and if you do one of those DNA ancestry tests on anyone Asian, all of Asia, North and South America will light up in that map of where your ancestors came from.

I know because we have a Chinese daughter and we did do one of those tests, since we don't know anything else about her, and we thought maybe we'd get some of those results back where, IDK, she thinks cilantro tastes like soap or something, or she is at higher risk for something.

I think about it today because if she ever got "picked up" by ICE there's no DNA way to prove she's actually not from some place like central America and she has no known biological parents or place of birth in the US.

ICE doesn't care where your blood comes from. They'll grab you and ship you anywhere.

NP. Plenty of people. Sure. lol. Only MAGA morons, no one else. Literally no . . . one . . . else. And MAGA are MAGA because they’ve always known that they are misfit losers in the rest of a normal, functioning society.
