at that age i took kid and several friends to embassy suites and did indoor swimming, spa activities and sleepover/breakfast.

I see now the ‘balancing books on head’ may not be a good idea but maybe other activities:

- everyone checks out a book
- read allowed / librarian reads a story
- apply for a library card?
- building a fort out of books / competition

Sometimes bead stores have jewelry making workshops.

Hillwood house sometimes has craft days. Does Tudor Place or Dumbarton do that?
