No, but your talented, smart kid likely would be able to fit in and excel at life at almost any school. They'd find a group of similar students at most schools in the T50-100 rankings.

Exactly—if I’m paying half a million for a school, I’d much rather my child be surrounded by real brilliant, kind, and curious kids than cookie-cutter clones ones

Its hilarious that you think that brilliant kind and curious kids only go to Ivy. In fact, Ivy is not equal to brilliant or curious. It is actually equal to legacy, donors, influence, celebrity etc.. sure there maybe some kids who got in because they played their game but it doesn’t mean the rest of the schools have mediocre cookie cutter clones.

Exactly, infact some of the top school kids I know are the cookie cutter kids whose activities have been carefully curated by their parents since they were very young. Since when have "kind" kids only gone to only top schools.

Why do you care????

Let it go.

Your kid isn’t going to one. It’s okay.

Did already you buy your baby an essay, a research project, a non profit and an ADHD diagnosis for extra test time?

OP it is really a mixed bag, some people as your described have been strivers who had to work for decades to achieve success. Other do it because they were born gifted. It takes all kinds.
