Can ECNL Mid Atlantic be saved?

I 100% agree that we could build soccer zones around major urban areas and cease 90% of the travel - Atlanta, DC, Charlotte or Greensboro, etc. with kids outside coming in to play occasional tournaments and friendlies.

However I don't think we like excessiveness, instead I think we have an odd intersection of profit seeking, lack of deep soccer culture - which I do think is changing - and American culture. No idea how that changes except for time and interest in the sport.

Is anyone at ECNL or anyone at the club level considering/suggesting changes to the current set up or is the plan to just continue adding teams and expanding geographic boundaries of conferences?
