Please tell me this is a troll post.

1) The kids have not had a full week of school in ages, there have been plenty of breaks. They have one on Monday
2) We are coming up to the end of the quarter, summative grades are needed. Kids have made progress in their units; this is the time for tests and papers.
3) Kids need to learn time management and how to complete work that is assigned by a due date. That is a part of what they are doing at school. Is your kid using their advisory period for studying or socializing? Is your kid using the time many teachers give in class to get started on homework or study?
4) If the answer to 3 is that your kid is still swamped after doing work at school than maybe you need to revisit their load in and out of school.

What school is GCM? I scrolled through the FCPS high school list and could not find a school with those initials.

I don't know about ya'll advisory, DS advisory is a sh&^%show. They are having "conversations" there. About feelings and anxieties.

SEL. As far as I know, advisory only has about 45 minutes of work time. Since that's every other day, that's not nearly enough time for kids to get any substantive work done.

This is exactly our issue. They don’t give kids enough work time. 45 minutes every other day? Come on.

Plenty of kids find that advisory is enough time. Some kids will take longer to do homework, you need to decide on classes that fit your kids ability and interests.

Your child should have a College Board account online that should show when the PSAT scores come out. They can even download the College Board app.

For my child's school, I was told Oct. 23 is when the scores come out.

That’s impossible as the testing window doesn’t even close until October 30 of this year. Scores won’t come out until after the testing window closes. Whoever told you that is an idiot.

The SAT scores for the SATs taken on 10/8 will be released 10/23 per the SAT website. So maybe someone misunderstood the question.

Granted, I have a sophomore and I understand junior year is more intense, but he is in all honors and AP classes at one of the top FCPS high schools, getting all As and I see him do maybe 30 minutes of homework/studying outside of school.

He’s not brilliant or anything and only normal-level organized. Why are so many kids spending so much time on class work (obviously taking out kids who have learning disabilities)?

My initial reaction is that it’s a great week to assign a test or some extra homework since they have Wednesday afternoon off! Surprised to see people complaining.
