Did you write this article? The whole think is a mess: "I was seriously disrespected by a close friend last week" without any further detail. "I have seen cheaters and sexual assaulters be accepted and praised in campus ministry for their mere involvement", as if cheaters are on par with sexual assaulters! If this writer has a serious allegation or evidence of sexual assault, that absolutely deserves to be the focus of the article, rather than the immature girl drama the writer focuses on. If anything, the article is an indictment of ND because it is a poorly written mess. |
Not sure what you found offensive here. Please elaborate. Do you cringe at words like sinner and repent? If so, then yes, Catholic schools are probably not a good fit for you. |
It is interesting. When students highlight issues with other schools like Cal, Ivies, NYU, Johns Hopkins (see the thread here) people who view the school positively engage the criticisms, even admitting that some are true, but there is a defensiveness about ND, so much so that defenders personally attack the critic. Not helping to reassure people. |
This is very different and clearly a personal gripe. Never hear this type of complaint from other students. If you have, by all means share and I’d be more open minded. |
DP: I'm sure there are a lot of two-faced people at ND. We certainly know that outwardly religious behaviors these days are no proof of moral rectitude. However, the article posted is not a serious criticism with clear examples and accusations. It is a teenage whine. |
100% false |
What is 100% false? ND is 82% Catholic. |
