My kids got into some of those, but picked different schools. Individual choice is far more subjective than a list like this.

Mind you, you did not go to a T25 school and NO ONE CARES ABOUT YEILD!!! The Median SAT score was 1470 before the test-optional policy. Admits and enrolled aren't much different at Emory, last year's admits were a 1520, enrolled a 1510. I said 1530 because, at the admitted students day, Emory Adcoms stated they admitted a 1540 median, so it should be a 1530 enrolled if trends continue. Either way, we can tell you went to a public school and are still bitter about your outcomes, either that or some girl from Emory broke your heart.

Of course nobody cares about yield, but yield is very telling about students actually wanting to be there and demand for the school. I wouldn't want to attend a school where 70% of those admitted choose to go elsewhere.

The Catholic cult is strong. Methodist one is strong too, however. ND doesn't have a medical school. Emory and GU do. Why can't ND get a higher ranking? It has more money than 5 Ivies?

You sound like the type to ask women what they bring to the table. If you're the only one who cares about yield, then you're the weird one. Comparing ND to Emory is silly. Two very different schools with different cultures. I’d be very surprised if a kid applied to both.

100% agree.

But, be forewarned that the workloads & expectations at JHU & Northwestern are not for the faint-of-heart. Some majors at NU are normal Top 10 to Top 20 demands, but most are quite demanding. A difference is that some students/majors are cutthroat at JHU--something that is not present at NU.

There are so many outstanding colleges & universities in the US that one should be able to match his/her comfort level whether it be intense or to coast.

Cornell is also a great school which has some ultra-competitive majors.
