GA to Adopt Seasonal-Year Age Group Formation

The Aug and sept kids get the biggest benefit but are put in an odd situation given they are likely a grade ahead. girls not getting a-lot of play time now have another option.

No one is "playing down" FFS. Everyone is playing with her correct age group, which will be Aug-July. Some girls might choose to play "up" with the next age group.

They play down a year from what they are currently playing. So a december 2011 will join the january 2012s.

My August 2012 will likely quit if she’s force to play with younger kids. No plans for college so will just do a different sport.

Isn't it at least the same grade? If not, I think you could make a decent case to stay with the current team BUT your kid has to be good enough ability wise to remain.

Maybe the older 2012s will be happy not to have to play with much younger, grade-behind, immature girls.

Every team, club is different. Elite leagues are a bit different in that there's always a lot of competition to make the top teams. That'll limit some flexibility that might be available on B,C,D teams, etc.

There will be a lot of movement between teams to offset the changes.

99% of players will be in a new situation. New team mates, new levels, new positions….

This is going to be epic.

Some of us are old enough to remember when it switched from school year to the current birth year in 2016. It wasn’t a big deal after the initial dust settled. It will be fine.
