also cherry pie! August bday. |
Lately it's been Baked & Wired coconut cupcakes. DH gets them when he is in DC and we freeze them for birthdays and holidays.
But in my 20s it was carrot cake. When I was a kid it was white cake with vanilla frosting and chocolate ice cream. |
I’ve never been a big cake person, but I love pies. The last few years I’ve just gone for the frozen Edwards chocolate creme pie. They’re easy, affordable, and are a happy food that makes me smile. |
Coconut cake with coconut pudding on top and in between the layers, frosted with whipped cream and sprinkled with shredded coconut. |
I'd like a Princess Cake but I'm the only person in my nuclear family who likes marzipan so I usually get something else. |
I'm dreaming of peanut butter pie... |
I used to work with her. On her in birthday, when I brought a cake, she just had the fresh fruit topping. Lactose intolerant, but ate yogurt for breakfast everyday? |
Ice cream cake (with no actual cake). Preferably from Bruster's. I am but a big actual cake person. |
The pistachio cake from shotted coffee is the most perfect tasting cake I have ever had. It’s amazing. I don’t think they make a full cake and i’m the only one who likes it in my family so Always get just the single serving for my birthday. I would much rather a small serving of an absolute delicious dessert than an entire cake/pie of something that is good but not great. |
I like nothing bundt cakes or this year for the first time I'm trying a Mile High Chocolate pie from livin the pie life. I've got it in the freezer. |
Opera cake! Patisserie Poupon makes a good one. |
+1 to Baked & Wired coconut cupcakes! I normally don’t go for “fancy” cupcakes, but Baked & Wired’s cupcakes are incredible. |
I am usually a from scratch baking person but I had a relative that used to make the pistachio pudding tunnel cake that was popular in the 70s/80s and it was so good. |
I adore good cakes and every year my family buys me the worst cakes, just truly inedible. I don’t know why they don’t go to the bakery where I buy cakes or just make one from an easy recipe. I think this year I need to get on the ball and just go buy my own cake. |
Do I have to pick just one?
In order, it would probably be: tiramisu, triple chocolate mousse cake, then a lemon curd cheesecake. One I made recently, a “magic” chocolate flan cake, might just rise up into my Top 3 — just a perfect mix of a chocolate cake base with a creamy flan layer, topped with a caramel sauce to drizzle over the side. It was shockingly easy to make. |
