What is your absolute favorite cake for your own birthday? |
I like getting a lava cake from Fleming's.
My DD loves blueberry pie. |
Used to be Carvel with extra crunchies.
Now it is coffee ice cream Häagen-Dazs cake. Or Dunkin Hines vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting. DH hates sweets he gets a sushi tower LOL |
Balducci’s Dolly Sin cake, Wegmans white cake or homemade raspberry trifle fluff |
Carrot cake from Medium rare. Or Russian honey cake. |
Strawberry shortcake. Down here, the best I’ve found is Wegman’s. Better options are in NY. |
A real cherry pie like my mom made. |
Lemon bars. |
My Italian SIL makes the most delicious tiramisu for family birthdays, all from scratch. If she can’t do it I get the berry Chantilly cake from Whole Foods. |
Yes! My mom makes the best sour cherry pie. And I have a summer birthday. If not that, an ice cream sundae. |
Strawberry pie - because my family's birthdays and other special holidays are bunched within a few months and by the time it gets to mine - just a few days after one of my kids' - I'm sick of cake. If not strawberry pie, really good cheesecake. |
The Chantilly cake from Whole Foods. |
I don’t have one favorite. Each year I decide what I’m in the mood for. In the past I’ve done yellow cake with chocolate frosting, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, cherry chocolate cake with fudge icing, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. A couple years ago, I really wanted chocolate cake with mocha frosting and raspberry filling. My DD15 made it for me from scratch. Trying to figure out what I want this year. |
Sticky Toffee Pudding |
I do love a tiramisu cake or a strawberry shortcake or burnt sugar caramel cake. |
