| I can't believe no one has gone with Pearl Jam's Jeremy yet. I guess a lot of you will say it's too far on the young side of Gen X, but isn't what was popular when you were in high school and college what was most marking to your life? It was for me at least. |

I'm an older X(b.1968). I say just download any soundtrack from a John Hughes movie, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Ferris Beuller.

I grew up in thr Uk, so I would sauly “Disco 2000”, “come on Eileen”, “Don’t look back in anger”.
I hated Simple Minds, but I have to admit that Don’t you forget about me would be up there for iconic songs. |

My brother is a younger Xer and I agree throwing out Nirvana is ridiculous.
I think there’s a decent argument for Black Hole Sun, Where is My Mind, Linger, or Once in Lifetime. |
