Best mid-size target colleges for Northeast/Mid-Atlantic/South?

My child wanted mid-sized. Some of the schools they looked at were for target / likelies:
St. Joes (got good merit)
Delaware
U Conn
SLU
Marquette
University of Iowa

University of Delaware is a great suggestion. My DC does not attend, but we have a house in Bethany Beach, and have met so many happy, nice students who go there. They love it.
