P4 is the dream. Anything less would be a huge disappointment.

Anything less than P4 is a disappointment? You can't be serious. You quote the statistics about how tough it is to even make college soccer at all then you say it is a disappointment not to make P4? Less than P4 is still a huge achievement. Most of the kids will be happy to make a D1 team AND get a good education. Period.

100%. Love how people say P4 is the goal, there a lots of P4 schools that I would not want my kid to go to for academic reasons.

DD had no interest in P4. Focused on D3. She will be pre-med and not interested in the time involved with P4 or D1.

What!?! She wants a career that will pay her a substantial salary for decades to come over playing 2-6 years as a pro with very little prospect of making money beyond that?! Oh the horror!

Or play pro then transition to the working world? It happens all the time.

Women’s college soccer is equivalent to watching America’s Funniest Home Videos. Make the field smaller already.

What are you saying here? I'm not following along with your reference? Make the field smaller? Don't get it. Thanks!

DD’s math teacher. Also a coworker at a very well-known defense contractor inside the beltway. Both played professional sports and now have regular jobs.

Are we kidding here? The girls that play college soccer go on to get great jobs and many of them are superior students. I'm not following this strand at all.
