Not true. Nephew got notified yesterday from Vandy. He was on the waitlist. But he turned it down.

Interesting. Where is he going?

Oxford.

And he was waitlisted at Vanderbilt? Good grief. I am so nervous for my rising senior.

Just curious... why? I have a rising senior too and I'm not nervous at all. Of course, this is my 4th rodeo, so there's that.

UNC and UVA are regional plays with national pull-Michael Jordan hasn’t played in Chapel Hill for over 40 years. Duke also has one of the wealthiest alumni networks in The country. The SEC should make a run at Duke.

Nope, Duke will never be invited to the SEC. Nor will Clemson and FSU. All signs are pointing to UNC and UVA.

Over the past couple of years, speculation is that there may be a tie-in move of UNC & NC State so that NC State is not left out of big time college athletics if the ACC dissolves. Reportedly, both the SEC & Big Ten conferences want UNC & neither conference has any interest in NC State.

This is true. And if NC State gets tied to UNC and they both get in the SEC, Duke is even less likely to get in.

Duke is not going to the SEC. This poster is either a troll or completely delusional.

The SEC is a football and, increasingly, baseball conference. Duke is the equivalent of a high school team in both of those sports.

The SEC has become the top basketball conference too but new teams need to bring more than one sport. It’s why Clemson and FSU are not getting invited either.

Duke baseball is equal to UNC baseball and recetly Duke football has been better than UNC. UNC will be a ratings magnet wth Belichick and his girlfriend this year. But like ESPN hoops prime time slots the Blue Devils rule and UNC is the Acc Network. The Big10 would be smart to take Duke and Notre Dame as a package. UVA and NC State offer nothing.

Because Duke, FSU, and Clemson can't compete with SEC powerhouse Vanderbilt.

University Presidents and Chancellors have the vote on new members to a Conference. They would love to associate with the 6th best school in U.S. News ortherwise known as Duke. Anyone want to guess where the UNC Chancellor went to? Duke.

Guess what they love more? Money from TV contracts.

Clemson has a bigger tv audience in Charlotte than UNC.
